Fitness Center

Hornet Park Fitness Center, 5245 Hornet Ave. and NETA are co-sponsoring two nationally-recognized workshops. Saturday, Sept. 13 is Group Exercise Certification and is for potential and current fitness instructors. Workshop is 8-4:30. The second workshop is No Equipment Needed, and is geared to learn equipment-free workouts. Workshop hours are 8-1, Sunday, Sept.14. Benton House

Home Tour

The Benton House Home Tour will be Sun., noon-5 p.m. To commemorate its 35th Anniversary, a bike tour, Sunday brunch and vintage car and style show are also featured. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 the day of the tour. The Benton house is located at 312 S. Downey Ave.

Neighborhood

Old South Side Neighborhood Assoc., will host its annual rummage sale Saturday, 8 a.m. - ? at Sacred Heart Hall 1125 S. Meridian St.

Meetings

If you are troubled by someone drinking maybe Al-non can help. Christ United Methodist Church, US 31 S. and Stop 12 Road will host meetings Thursdays at 7 p.m. in room 28.

Connection

St. John's United Church of Christ, 7031 S. East St. will host a free community meal Thursday, 5:30 - 7 p.m.

 

Oktoberfest

Miracle Mile Parade to be

Rebroadcast

The Miracle Mile Parade which took place Sat. Aug. 30 will be rebroadcast at 9 p.m. Fri., Sept. 5 on channel 40 WHMB for the one-hour special broadcast of the parade.

 

Fall Lawn Care Class

Instructed by master gardener and retired physician Dick Huber, the class will take place from 9:30-noon Sat. at the Greenwood Public Library, 310 S. Meridian St., Grnwd. Registration is required by calling the library at 885-5036.

 

Ave Maria Guild

Regular monthly meeting is 12:30 p.m. Tues. Sept. 9 at St. Paul Hermitage, 501 N. 17th Ave., Beech Grove.

 

 

Prospect Lodge

Breakfast

Prospect Breakfast Club, 2901 S. Meridian St. will have a country breakfast Saturday, 7:30 - 10 a.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children. There will also be a stated meeting Monday, 7:30 p.m. Twenty five - year awards will be presented.

 

Faith United

Fish Fry/Yard Sale

Faith United Church of Christ, 4040 E. Thompson Road, is hosting its annual fish fry and yard sale Friday and Saturday. An outdoor worship service will follow Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m.
