From April 25, 2007 issue Columnist reflected on simpler life By Jaclyn Keller, Spotlight staff Spotlight columnist Anna Margaret (Pender) O'Sullivan, 87, passed away April 20 in her residence in Franklin. O'Sullivan was a teacher in Indianapolis Public Schools for 43 years before she became a writer of children's books. She wrote a column titled "Another Place, Another Time" in the Spotlight for about 12 years. Her colmuns portrayed her life growing up in Hanover, Ind. "She really struck home with some people," said former Spotlight editor and publisher Jerry Cosby. "A lot of folks her age can identify with the simpler times. They can remember the war years, rationing stamps and making icecream on their front porches. It was a different time then. O'Sullivan is survived by six children, 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. "She was a grand lady," Cosby said.
